Sprint: No LTE-Friendly Hardware Until Second Half Of 2012

sprintlteToday Sprint CFO Joseph Euteneuer said that the company plans on launching 15 LTE-capable devices next year, though they may be coming a little later than expected — the latter half of 2012, to be exact. The company had originally hoped for mid-summer launches with its first LTE-capable hardware, though either date is much later than the competition. Verizon is clearly up and running in the 4G LTE department, and AT&T is getting there. Then, there's Sprint.

Steady Stand, a Copy-Stand and Diffuser Box in One

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best. And so it is with the Modahaus Steady Stand 200, a kind of combination light-box and camera support for shooting top-down pictures of… anything. The Steady Stand holds your camera or cellphone 200mm (almost eight inches) above the desktop, and does it on a structure of white translucent plastic. [...]

Relax With The Don?t Panic iPad Case

If the iPad had existed back in 1972, and Doug Trumbull had used it in his awesome movie Silent Running, its case would have looked just like the Don’t Panic Case and Stand from Thomas Fulton. Its combination of brightly-colored felt and shaped, multi-paneled leather is straight out of the retro sci-fi world. Fulton’s case is [...]

Cox TV Connect app brings more live cable TV streaming to iPads

The list of pay-TV providers that don't have an app that turns your iPad into another TV screen has grown one shorter today, as Cox Communications announced its Cox TV Connect app. Like other apps from Cablevision, Time Warner, and DirecTV it's restricted to use within the home (and for jailbreakers, judging by error code 144 you may be restricted once again) while connected to Cox internet service. The description promises "over 35 " channels available, a glance at the listing on Cox's support site reveals a distinct lack of Viacom offerings (Spike is shown in the screenshots, but isn't on the list), which isn't surprising given the video giant's legal wrangling over other similar apps. We're not seeing any support for any kind of second screen interaction with what's on TV or remote control features, although the existing Mobile Connect apps have some of that covered. It does however support viewing on up to 5 tablets at once, so if your family is squeezed for screens this may be just the ticket, check after the break for a press release or hit the iTunes link below to download the free app.

[Thanks, Stephen]

Zoho has offered an iOS app for a while now -- at least for the iPhone and iPod touch. Those of you who have been wanting to use the Zoho app on your iPad were out of luck, but that's no longer the case.

Zoho Docs 2.0 has landed in the App Store, and the most notable change is that it's now a universal app. Now you're able to take advantage of the app's mobile productivity powers on your larger iOS device. Retina display support has also been added, as have document sharing options -- which you can utilize in both the viewer and collaboration modes.

Just like the basic Zoho service, the app is available totally free of charge. Paid subscriptions get you additional storage space and start at $3 per month for professional use.
